What in Tarnations is Jotny?

nickname 

1.  Younger sister naturally shortened Jonathan into Jotny and family has called him that ever since.  

2.  Most everyone else calls him Dill.

Jotny played bass in rock bands "Toast" and "Community Spoon" in his youth.  Late last century he started making electronic music on computers and continues to do so, especially in 2024...

Even Jotny isn't sure what genre he is so he shoved a bunch of genre-like words together in an attempt to describe it...

DARKHOUSE JAMTRANCE

When Jotny plays live shows he calls it

DAWLESS darkhouse jamtrance.

DAW = Digital Audio Workstation

So DAWLESS basically means no computer.

When Jotny plays live he uses no computer.  Mostly out of fear of it freezing to be honest.

For live shows Jotny has a giant box.
Box dimensions: 5' x 2' x 1' 

Mounted inside are synthesizers, effects pedals, and an LED light all controlled by a tangled web of Eurorack cables.

This giant box is called the Apocalypse.

Jotny feeds bass and guitar into the Apocalypse and sometimes even whispers to it.
